🏛️ About the Garden Villa Association (GVA)
I. Our History and Scope
The Garden Villa Association (GVA) was officially formed in August 1992 by and for the residents of the Garden Villa community. Our association represents all 81 three-story buildings within Laguna Woods Village (LWW), making us a dedicated voice for our specific community’s needs and interests.
A Resident-Led Organization: From its inception, the GVA has been committed to being a grassroots organization, ensuring that the decisions made reflect the priorities and needs of the people living in the Garden Villa buildings.
II. Our Mission and Focus
Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for all residents by promoting a livable, well-maintained, and well-represented community. To achieve this, the GVA Board of Directors focuses on two key areas:
-
Property Advocacy & Review: Communicating residents’ needs and observations regarding the care, maintenance, and capital improvement projects for our 81 three-story buildings and their associated common areas to the appropriate governing bodies.
-
Advocacy & Communication: Serving as the vital link between residents, Village Management Services, and the Third Laguna Hills Mutual HOA Meetings. We ensure that resident concerns are heard and that management decisions align with the best interests of the Garden Villa community.
III. Governance and Structure
The GVA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, elected by the members of the Association (the residents). The Board operates according to its established Bylaws and guided by the Building Captains Manual, ensuring transparent and responsible management of the Association’s affairs.
We encourage all residents to participate by attending board meetings, reviewing meeting minutes, and communicating with their respective Building Captains or Board Members.
